Scott Air Force Base, located in southwestern Illinois just 25 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, is the nerve center of America’s global mobility enterprise. As a premier installation of Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott AFB’s primary role is to command and control the vast network of airlift, aerial refueling, and aeromedical evacuation missions that project and sustain U.S. power worldwide. The host unit, the 375th Air Mobility Wing, provides essential installation support for these major commands and a multitude of other tenant units. The “Airlift Wing of Distinction” also executes its own operational missions, including executive airlift for high-priority personnel and aeromedical evacuation, ensuring wounded warriors are transported to higher levels of care. The Air Force Reserve is also represented by the 932d Airlift Wing, which performs a similar executive airlift mission.
