Vandenberg Space Force Base, occupying a vast and scenic stretch of California’s Central Coast near Lompoc, is the nation’s primary spaceport for launching government and commercial satellites into polar orbit. Vandenberg is also home to several key tenant units, including the Combined Force Space Component Command (CFSCC), a joint command responsible for planning and executing tactical space operations to support combatant commanders worldwide. The base’s expansive and rugged terrain provides an ideal environment for a variety of training activities for multiple military branches.

Personnel and their families stationed at Vandenberg SFB experience a unique coastal California lifestyle, with a mild, often foggy climate and close proximity to the rolling hills of wine country. The base is supported by the surrounding communities of Lompoc, Vandenberg Village, and Santa Maria.
