Base Overview

A massive Air Force Materiel Command installation in Middle Georgia, home to the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, and a legacy of global C2ISR.
Robins Air Force Base, located in the heart of Middle Georgia adjacent to the city of Warner Robins adjacent to the city of Warner Robins, is a linchpin of aviation sustainment and a major center for command and control. As one of the largest installations in the U.S. Air Force, Robins AFB is a massive industrial complex and a vital component of Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). Its missions are critical for ensuring the long-term readiness and combat capability of a wide array of Air Force weapon systems.

The base’s primary mission revolves around the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC), one of three such depot maintenance facilities in the Air Force. The WR-ALC provides depot maintenance, engineering support, and software development for numerous aircraft, including the F-15, C-130, C-5, and C-17. The complex’s highly skilled workforce of military and civilian professionals is responsible for overhauling, modifying, and repairing these aircraft, keeping the fleet effective and ready for global operations.

Robins AFB also proudly serves as the headquarters for Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), which directs the mission of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and its nearly 70,000 Citizen Airmen worldwide. For decades, the base was synonymous with the E-8C Joint STARS mission, flown by a unique Total Force wing of active duty and Georgia Air National Guard Airmen. While that historic mission concluded in 2023, the base continues to transition to new and emerging missions in the battle management and command and control enterprise.

The host unit, the 78th Air Base Wing, provides essential installation support for the ALC, AFRC headquarters, and more than 50 other tenant units. Personnel and families stationed at Robins enjoy a low cost of living, warm climate, and the strong support of the patriotic Warner Robins community, which grew up alongside the base and continues to be its biggest champion.
